Right now I'm running a mix of building, experimenting and moving things into productive use: a freshly built IT infrastructure, a local LLM, agentic engineering in Devin — and a 3D printer as my rabbit hole.

Current work areas
Rebuilding IT infrastructure — I'm responsible for operational IT and rebuilding a grown infrastructure: Proxmox VE, LXC services, identity/SSO, Immich and further internal services on an open-source basis. The path matters: build in the lab, test, document — then move into production in a controlled way.
Local LLM on the Threadripper — A local Qwen3-8B is genuinely productive in my setup for the first time. The real insight: this is the first setup that feels like a tool in my workflow — not a tech demo.
Agentic engineering — I'm spending a lot of time in Devin these days: more skills, more CLI, still with the IDE alongside. The interesting shift: fewer single prompts, more orchestration of skills, context and CLI. The IDE remains the place where I keep architecture, review and responsibility.
Software & integrations — In parallel I'm developing Ghost themes, a Three.js-based 3D viewer, and connections between identity structures and self-hosted services. These seams are exactly my thing: connecting existing services, identity, viewers and themes so something usable emerges — instead of reinventing everything.
3D printing — The 3D printer is my current rabbit hole: hardware, software, configs, iterations. The feedback loop is physical: when a model, config or workflow doesn't fit, you see it immediately. That makes iteration very direct.

CCC Datenspuren 2026
I spent last weekend on site at Datenspuren in Dresden — the CCC Dresden annual symposium. What I liked most: the technical quality. Finest insider knowledge from people who are deep into very different topics, sharing good, entertaining tech knowledge and insights. Plus free-spirited people, open and direct exchange — and delicious food on top. All talks were streamed; the recordings are on media.ccc.de. My three favorites (in German):
